Objectives

To get acquainted with the contemporary methods of mathematical modeling using deterministic continuous models (ordinary and partial differential equations), which includes model formulation, model analysis (analytic solution, numerical solution, analysis of the equilibrium points) and model calibration to data.

Contents

Basics of mathematical modeling, ODE formulation and solution (analytic, numerical), the foundations of stability theory, model analysis and calibration.

Assessment

The assessment is based on the weekly assignments, group work, individual work and final exam. Attendance to the first lecture is required.
