Objectives

Students will acquire strong knowledge and understanding of modern statistical methods for application in medical trials and in medical data analysis.

Contents

The course will explain statistical techniques for evaluation of biomedical data. It provides an introduction into design aspects, methods of summarizing and presenting data, estimation, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing, including multivariable regression methods for the assessment of association. Although the course focuses on methods and examples from clinical research, it may be useful for experimental researchers as well. The emphasis will be made on practical application and interpretation rather than theory.

Lectures and lab sessions.

Assessment

Grading: 70% lab assignments, 30% course project.
