Genomics and Bioinformatics
Students will learn: the modern problems of this field of knowledge, the possibilities and directions of development, the features of analysis of large arrays of biomedical data obtained by using the latest high-yield molecular genetic methods, such as sequencing of a new generation, high-performance analysis methods in biomedicine, basic concepts and terms in the field of algorithmic high-level programming; to formulate and solve problems of bioinformatic analysis: DNA samples; formulate and to solve problems of genomic analysis of epigenetic mechanisms, to apply a comparative analysis of methodological approaches in the analysis of expression data, to use query languages and databases to search for necessary information.
Students will acquire the basic skills of developing information technologies for solving the problems of bioinformatics and genomics, the skills of implementing and using information technologies for solving the problems of bioinformatics and genomics. Students will study statistical methods and approaches in analyzing the quality of high-performance sequencing data; methods of predictive analysis of gene and proteomic breakages.
