Medical Information Systems

Students will study the features of medical information, classes and types of medical information systems, the structure and main functions of automated medical-technological information systems, the organizational and legal support of medical information systems, the methodology for constructing a medical information system of health facilities, levels of informatization of health facilities, goals, objectives, structure, basic functions and principles of development of automated information systems of health facilities, structure and functions of laboratory information systems, medical computer systems for functional studies of the physiological systems of the body. Students will learn to use a specialized information technology system of the department, build an information model of the treatment and diagnostic process in a clinic, build a medical information system of health facilities, use medical instrument-computer systems for functional studies of the physiological systems of the body. Students will gain skills in working with statistical information analysis algorithms; knowledge analysis algorithms based on knowledge; information security technologies; use of telecommunication technologies and Internet resources in medicine; working with expert systems to support decision making; medical information processing; formalization and structuring of medical information; information support for diagnostic and therapeutic processes; building a medical information system of health facilities, computer networks.
